On Monday, March 12, Operation Mobilisation joined hands with CAPRO Missions on a weeklong venture to reach out to students at the four campuses (North, South, Second Avenue and Missionvale) of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
With many students feeling extremely stressed due to upcoming tests, it was a good opportunity to pray with them. It was an amazing time of building friendships, encouraging the students and sharing the love of Jesus with them.
Students were invited to amazing services in the evenings at the North campus auditorium. The evening services consisted of worship, raps, prayer, dramas, encouraging messages about the love of Jesus as well as a challenge to share the love of Christ wherever you are and also in the nations of the world.
It was beautiful to see and hear about the many students that accepted Jesus as their Lord and saviour. Jesus Christ was at work in NMMU. I believe that the seeds that were planted will bear much fruit. Operation Mobilisation and CAPRO have planted the seeds and Jesus will water and nurture them.
“…and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8. Many have the perception that the unreached people groups are in rural villages at the ends of the earth. I challenge you to take a walk through NMMU and you will be amazed at how many people on your doorstep (Port Elizabeth) have not heard about Jesus. Start today by spreading the love of Christ in your Jerusalem (wherever you are situated).
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:14-15
