The 27th annual Bless the Nations World Missions Conference (BTN) will take place during the first weekend of the winter school holidays (Friday, June 27 to Sunday June 29) at the Hoogland, Dutch Reformed Church in Charlo, Port Elizabeth.
Tobie de Wet who worked as a missionary in Japan will head up the lineup of international and local speakers and there will be a special focus on drawing youth to the event which has a long track record of mobilising PE people to serve all over the world as missionaries and to promote missions in their local churches.
“We have renamed the conference ‘Bless the Nations World Missions Conference and Youth Fest’ “, says BTN spokesman, Graeme Deasy.
He says there will be a youth fest on the Saturday night. They are hoping that youth will also participate in an outreach to Walmer Township on the Saturday afternoon and in other events over the weekend.
The conference draws more than 100 churches across the metropole and includes a wide range of missionary exhibitions in addition to main conference events. There is no official registration and attendance of the conference is free. Costs are covered through love offerings during the weekend.
