Zambian army man wants to win 2 billion souls for Jesus

Warrant Officer Class 1 Justus Sichinsambwe of Lusaka, Zambia is taking six months leave from December to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the streets.

He sees this mission as the first step in his dream of retiring from the army where he has served for 28 years and preaching fulltime with the goal of winning two billion souls for Jesus before he dies.

“Time is not with me. I have this urgency. I see that many people are suffering. They need to know Jesus,” he said in a telephonic interview.

Justus said that he was baptised in 1991 but that his passion for Jesus was precipitated by the death of his wife Bertha Elizabeth in 2008. Heartbroken and left with a two-months-old baby boy he said he cried for nearly 20 days, during which time he hardly ate. During that time he also prayed day and night, asking God how He could take his wife who was just 29-years-old, from him.

“Then the light of God appeared to me and I came to know the Holy God. I began to see things that I could not understand. From that moment I came to know that God wants to use me. I began to pray each and every day.

“I began to visit a lot of people in the hospitals. I began to understand them because when I was at the mountain, I saw the light of God — a sword was handed to me. So, I began to pray for people — whether they were sick they were healed, whether they were barren, they conceived.”

In the army he serves in the signals corps but he also assists in the military chaplaincy. He has completed a number of theology and ministry courses and sees a need to keep on studying.

He preaches on Tik Tok every day and has preached in many ministry settings and done a little preaching on the streets, where he says he has found that people are drawn to listen to him.

“People need to repent. My message is on repentance only — focusing on accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. And I pray for the sick,” said Justus who is known in Christian circles as Prophet Justus.

He remarried after losing his first wife. He says his wife Miriam Mutayakwa strongly supports his calling to winning souls on the streets, in malls and in the marketplace.

“I want to do it professionally,” said Justus, who said that in preparation for his coming six months mission he will be applying for a permit to preach on the streets and he will be buying a self-amplifying loudhailer.

He said he has a heart for reaching widows and orphans and teaching them the Word of God. If he ministers to somebody who is hungry he does not just want to pray for them and leave them without giving them something to eat. “Then I’d be a liar. I need to empower a lot of people with the Word in the physical, spiritual, and financial. It’s my prayer. God is going to give me wisdom on how I’m going to deliver the message of God,” he said.

He said he does not want to win souls who become church members only but people who become disciples of Jesus.
