Brave Jesus-lover Rozanne Visagie passes away

Rozanne Visagie, leading worship on a beach outreach

Rozanne Visagie, a tireless and courageous ambassador for Jesus, who kept on promoting prayer, worship and evangelism outreaches in Cape Town in the midst of a gruelling personal battle with breast cancer, passed away in hospital on October 2.

A well-known singer, wife and mother of two, and daughter of former president PW Botha, she documented her struggle with cancer — her third outbreak of the disease in 12 years — in her Cancer Diaries which she shared with friends on social media, frankly documenting her emotional and health trials while encouraging people to worship and trust Jesus unconditionally.

Rozanne often forwarded Christian news alerts to Gateway News and she wrote several articles for us about prayer and worship outreaches on Cape Town beaches. An enthusiastic revivalist at heart she also maintained a Facebook page, Revival Prayer, aimed at inspiring the Body of Christ to unite in prayer.

She leaves her husband Schalk, daughter Shanna and son Schalk. Her life will be celebrated at a memorial service at AGS Blouberg, Church On The Rise at 10am on Saturday October 8.
