Kareedouw ‘speaking Jesus’ again on September 23

Christians wave flags and banners at last year’s Speak Jesus Kareedouw event alongside a cross that was planted on the field at the town’s Paul Sauer Sportsground

The small Eastern Cape town of Kareedouw will be hosting a “Speak Jesus” event for the second year running, on Saturday September 23, said Christo Vorster who arranged last year’s event in obedience to detailed instructions he said he received from God.

“The heart of the event is just to speak the name of Jesus over every circumstance. A lot of people are battling these days but as followers of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, we are light bearers to the world and can bring hope to families,” he said.

The day will start at 3pm with a Jesus March through the town — from the Blouberg Mall to the Paul Sauer Sportsground which is the venue for a time of praise, worship and prayer [for families, communities and the nation] from 4pm. Horsemen will lead the march, followed by people carrying Jesus banners, and by Christian motorcyclists. “Every step of the way we will proclaim the name of Jesus and we will be pushing back the forces of darkness and shining the light of Jesus,” he said. Christo said that last year God told him three times to “go big” with the event and he believes the Lord wants it to be an annual event.

“We are partnering with the local churches here in Kareedouw and we are under the covering of the Church at Tsitsikamma,” he said.

He said they are expecting “a lot of people from outside [Kareedouw] to come”.
