Afrikaans Gospel artist Adriaan is sporting a new look for a good cause reports Brettian Productions in a Press Release. On November 4 he shaved his long curly locks and auctioned them off for a whopping R20 000. Proceeds were donated to Huis Talita, a satellite children’s home supported by AGS Brakpan-West. Adriaan is currently the worship leader at the church and recently released his debut Gospel album, Sterre Diamant.
“I’ve been growing my hair for the last eight years so this is definitely a big adjustment,” says Adriaan. “It was time for a change so why not make that change for a good cause.” Adriaan is blessed with a happy and healthy 5-year-old boy named Sian. Because of this, his heart goes out to children who have no family unit to care for them.
When Adriaan was just a boy, he was offered the opportunity of joining the Drakensburg Boys Choir. His parents decided that it was more important for him to grow up under their watchful eye, something that Adriaan is very grateful for today.
Adriaan is a huge believer in uplifting families and women in society. He has been married for 14 years to Karien. The title track on his album is about valuing the special lady in your life. “Women are precious and they should be handled like diamonds. Today’s women are not just stay at home moms. Many work all day and then come home to care for the family’s needs. Men should support them and let them know that they are priceless. “

Adriaan is currently signed to Brettian Productions, who also produced his first music video for Sterre Diamant. The young boy in the video is played by Adriaan’s son, Sian.
