Further travels with Jesus: to Namibia, Singapore — Julita Kok

I think that Gateway News readers know me by now, so I do not have to explain who I am and where I come from. As most of you know, God started using me during the pandemic to visit with His children.

I did a trip round SA of 6 500km, went on to Namibia and did 11 200km and thought that to be quite a lot. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would do 26 500km through Africa. It was not on my bucket list for sure, but what an adventure it has been travelling with God in this way.

I am actually spoiled now to the sense that not many things satisfy me. I stay “hungry” for more. Knowing that there is such a lot out there to explore. Just seeing and experiencing different cultures throughout the world, changes your mindset and belief systems like nothing else. It is so, so good to interact with other cultures. It also makes you look at why you believe what you believe — and this brings you to interesting conclusions. It is a road of self discovery and who you are in God.

So, recently, getting back from my 6-month Africa journey, I thought that God would give me a few months just to rest.  But no. Too much to be done. So, He sent me back to Namibia for a short period and then I went on to Singapore.

I was so privileged to see Ouma Geraldine in Walvis Bay again. 95 years old and absolutely on fire for God. She so much wants to go home to be with Jesus, but I told her there is no chance of Him taking her home now. She is too much on the go. People visit her all the time, she gets amazing revelations and she just keeps at it. She is too busy to die, hehehehehe. But it is quite amazing to meet someone who has no fear of death whatsoever. She longs for it.

I spend every available hour with people. Ministering to them and I also had a message for Namibia. The local radio station, Channel 7, always invites me to speak on air when I am in Nambia and so I did once again. I had a meeting on the Saturday morning and more or less 200 people showed up. And I knew that people were hungry to hear what God has in store for their nation. God is turning Namibia into something totally different from what she is used to — also removing religion from her loins and this is beautiful to see. The people are ready to do what God asks them and ready to receive the nations.

From there I continued to Singapore for two weeks and what a blessing that was! So many nations came together and I met people from Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Germany, Israel and just so many other countries. This was fascinating. When we came together from all over the world, not knowing each other, but yet it was one Spirit and we “knew” each other. We recognised that same Spirit in each other and that is a phenomenal thing.

I have been serving God now for 40 years and throughout that time we have been wondering about the End Times and reading Revelation and Isaiah and Daniel to see what the future holds. But on my Singapore trip, for the first time in my life, I met youngsters who believe that they are “THAT” generation.  I have never met people like this. It is next level. Youngsters between 18-30 who believe that some of them are called to this life, to die as martyrs and they are preparing themselves for it.

As far as I know, that is something that most Christians fear. Not these guys!! They are preparing for that moment. One of them is a medical doctor and he lives a life separated unto God as he is preparing for that day when he will have to choose. Imagine that!!! The knowledge of this must influence all your decisions. Do I get married? Do I have kids? Do I prepare my family? So many things and yet, they do not seem upset or sad about this. I truly have never met people like this and they are writing the Word on their hearts as they live in countries where Bibles can be taken away at any moment or where they are not even permitted. I realised once again how easy we have it concerning practising our faith here in South Africa.

I also met people from the underground church and I was blown away by how they know Scripture off by heart. I felt ashamed that I have never gone to the extent that they have to get to know as much of the Word as possible.

But it was so inspiring to meet these young people. And most of them came to Christ on their own. Jesus appearing to them, speaking to them. People, we are in amazing and exciting times. Most of these guys have known Jesus now for six years or less, but the maturity!!! What took me 40 years to learn, they received in six!! It shows me the times we are in.

I realised the importance of oneness in the Body of Christ. Not unity. Oneness. The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit are not in unity! They ARE ONE!! And we need that oneness with the Trinity and each other at this time. But I see it happen when I travel all over the globe and He is doing it. He is doing it. So amazing to witness . And where that oneness manifests, signs and wonders follow automatically. Beautiful to witness.

So my trips were eye openers once again to what is going on in the world and what other believers are experiencing. And of course, I had the best sushi in Singapore. Oh my word!!!

I came back on a 20.5 hour flight and experienced the goodness of God. I was totally fine on the long flight. Came home the afternoon and next morning woke up with excruciating pain in my stomach.  It escalated over the next two days and when I finally decided something was truly wrong and needed medical attention, I found out it was an acute appendix. Probably burst on the Monday already and I received emergency surgery on Wednesday night. But imagine if all of that had happened on the plane?? God kept me safe until there was help close-by. Such an amazing God!

I actually had a great time in hospital. Very sore, but I could pray with the ladies in my ward and I could share the Gospel with my surgeon. On his rounds the next day, he came back to my bed and asked me to pray for him and I knew…. salvation is near. So hospital was not so bad. It served its purpose on both ends.

I am thankful for these travels and the cultures I get to meet. I am thankful to see God loves all
people and that He is busy in the world, totally in control of everything. Amidst all that is going on, I feel safe in His hands.

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” — ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬-‭12‬ ‭KJV
