Integrity Media Africa introduced their iShine Southern Starz artists and a selection of new movies and music to South Africa during a 3-city roadshow that ended in Cape Town last week.
Gateway News attended the uplifting Cape Town show that was preceded by similar events in Johannesburg and Durban.
“The main thing we want to do is reach people’s hearts” said 14-year old iShine artist, Shanna Scooby.
iShine Southern Starz form a part of Integrity Media and are a division of America’s enormous tween ministry, iShine, and now also operate in South Africa. From December, they will have their own show broadcasted on DSTV’s ONE Gospel, presented by iShine artists who will be touring the country.
“My heart, why we do this, is for the youth of this country” said Nurden Cross, director of Integrity Media Africa. “Young people struggle with identity. We just want to bring some life and offer them an alternative.”
“I’m stoked for tonight. We’ve been waiting for such a long time for the event, and we recorded in May. I want people to experience God’s love and favour from my album” said iShine artist Courtney Jonas.
“God has given us talent and we want to play from our hearts” Schalk from Destination Band said.
Apart from the iShine Southern Starz CD, various other new releases were showcased. These included Casting Crowns’ new single Courageous (from their upcoming Come To The Well album) which features in Courageous, the follow-up movie to Fireproof; The Adventures of Toby ” My Dad” — CD and DVD; Jamie Grace – One Song At A Time — CD; and Building 429 – Listen To The Sound — CD.
