‘Jesus Collective’ featuring in first-of-kind live DSTV broadcast on November 28

The Jesus Collective music ministry will be live for a one-of-a-kind live broadcast at 8pm on November 28, on both DStv’s premier Christian Channels TBN Africa and One Gospel.

Worshippers who will be joining The Jesus Collective on the night are Ntokozo Mbambo, Khaya Mthethwa, Loyiso Bala, Spencer J Kennedy, Hle, Sipokazi Nxumalo “SK”, Varonica Meyer, Don Vino and more.

“We partnered with television broadcasters, TBN Africa and One Gospel, to reach a wider audience with our message,” says Loyiso Bala, multi-award winning South African musician and member of The Jesus Collective.

The heart of The Jesus Collective is evangelism through music, which requires the ministry to travel and to sing in front of live audiences in order to fulfil this mission. However, Covid-19 has, for obvious reasons, required the ministry to pivot into doing virtual worship concerts so that their mandate to spread the Gospel can still be fulfilled.

“We believe that through these partnerships, we will be able to reach individuals and families throughout Africa who may never have been able to log in online, but who have access to these means of watching content. This will be the first time that any concert has ever been broadcast live on both these channels simultaneously,” continues Bala.

Unity, expectation and celebration are the themes for this broadcast. “We believe in unifying the Body of Christ to have faith in the unchanging promises of God; that when we come to Him with expectation He will meet our needs, which will be a cause for celebration regardless of the turbulent times that we find ourselves in at this moment in time,” says Hilton Petersen, founder and leader of The Jesus Collective.

The Jesus Collective will be live on TBN Africa and One Gospel for the full 2-hours; however, the ministry will continue worshipping and live-streaming to The Jesus Collective YouTube and Facebook pages, for as long as the Spirit leads.

In terms of the music set-list, the group find it hard to confirm exactly what songs the audience can expect. “As we may have a song list prior to any event, we find more freedom in flowing as the Holy Spirit leads. Sometimes, what we planned before an event gets disrupted and takes a different but better path during the worship experience. These are the moments that we thrive on as they distinguish our worship from conventional concerts,” says Bala.

Viewers, as well as those streaming online, can expect authentic and sincere worship from a unified body of worshippers and ministers who each carry a unique testimony and anointing. Although state of the art production quality is never used as a draw card to The Jesus Collective events, the ministry are certain that by having enlisted some of the best production companies and teams in South Africa, audiences will be transformed from being an audience to a participant in the worship experience.

Due to Covid-19 protocols, seats to the live event to be held at Hillsong Church in Cape Town are limited to 150. Registration at http://www.thejesuscollective.co.za/   is imperative.
