Intercessors, royalty and chiefs from around South Africa will unite in Christian prayer on Monday April 27 to destroy an evil spiritual altar that has been linked to fatal accidents on Satan’s Neck Pass in Eastern Cape.

During the prayer assignment which is in response to a prophetic word released by Eastern Cape seer Khalipa Mboneli, the gathering will also rename the notorious mountain pass between between Ngcobo and Khowa (Elliot).

The 17km pass, which is prone to heavy mist and rain has a history of fatal accidents.  In 2018, a bus accident on the pass killed 13 people and injured another 48. In April 2024, a single-vehicle minibus crash resulted in five deaths, including an infant.

In a prophetic word released at the Hope of Glory Tabernacle Church in Vosloosrus, Gauteng, Khalipa said the Lord is calling His Church to arise because “many things have happened here on Earth and we were silent” and “there were things that were done and named and we were silent about them”.

She said that in a dream in November last year the Lord showed her a mountain and a huge python with cows horns. He spoke to her through Psalm 24:1 which says“the Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, and those who live in it”. He told her the time had come to destroy altars that were erected and evil names that “were put on My land” while His people were silent.

In the dream she fought the snake on a rock under a waterfall as people around her prayed and kept saying: “Thank you Lord for the victory you have given.”

Khalipa said that in the dream she beheaded the snake. Then she woke up and the Lord said He wanted an altar that had been erected a long time ago where the snake lives and people’s blood is shed through road accidents to be demolished. When she asked God where the altar is, she saw the name “eNgcobo” written — and below it, “Satan’s Neck”.

When she said she did not want to go to that dangerous place, the Lord told her He wanted her to speak to “the kings, those in authority, prophets and priests, and all the people in the land” about going to Satan’s Neck on April 27 to demolish the altar and to change the name of the place to Jehovah El Elyon —- “for I am above all”. Khalipa said she then saw Psalm 92.

When she asked God about the date, April 27, he said it was aligned with the time Esther stood before a king without being summoned, which led to God’s people being delivered from destruction.

She said the Lord said ungodly altars would be destroyed in all nine provinces. In July last year Christian and traditional leaders from around SA participated in a national repentance day in Nongoma, northern KwaZulu-Natal which had been called by Khalipa after a prophetic dream.

Princess Kholeka Mkheti, a Gauteng intercessor who was one of a number of people who arrived in Ngcobo early on Thursday, ahead of Monday’s prayer assignment, said: “We have received a lot of support from almost all the provinces and regions; all roads are leading to Ngcobo this coming long weekend.” She said they were encouraged by the positive response to the call to prayer by royal and traditional leaders. South Africa Prayer Movement for Change have played a big role in “undergirding and receiving” the prophetic call to action, she said.

Asked if the Lord’s choice of April 27 had anything to do with the Freedom Day holiday on that date, she said: “I believe that God is faithful towards the nation. I sense that God is using the same significant public holiday dates to correct the error and restore the land.”

Noting that the Ngcobo prayer assignment was different to last year’s prayer in Nongoma, she said she expected each provincial mission will be unique, although there may be some similarities. “The most outstanding, significant thing that I can highlight is that Yahweh Elohim is restructuring, realigning and partnering/ collaborating with the inhabitants of the land, I’m reminded of the book of Isaiah 43:18,19: He is doing a new thing but first the broken altars need to be repaired according to 1 kings 18:30. It confirms that iniquity is prospering instead of righteousness and because of the mystery of the faulty altars.”

She said God had specifically highlighted Jeremiah 1:8-10, which indicates “there must be the planting of a memorial stone with the inscription ‘EL ELYON( Psalm 97 verse 9) the Supreme God'”.
