On Freedom Day – Monday April 27 – intercessors, royalty and chiefs from around South Africa took part in a roadside prayer mission in the Eastern Cape in response to a prophetic word about an evil spiritual altar linked to fatal accidents in the area.
Their prayer assignment was to break the altar believed to have been established many years ago, then to erect a memorial stone displaying the new name, El Elyon Ethembeni, which they gave to the high-accident road known as Satan’s Nek Pass between Ngcobo and Khowa (Elliot).
Princess Kholeka Mkheti, a Gauteng intercessor and member of the team that organised Monday’s prayer gathering , said they had erected the memorial stone in line with the Scripture, Jeremiah 1:10 which speaks of “uprooting” and “rebuilding”. Explaining the origin of their new name for the pass, she said “El Elyon”, meaning “God Most High”, was according to an instruction that God had given to Prophetess Khalipa Mboneli – and “Ethembeni”, meaning “hope”, was from those gathered at the site.
She said: “This [the completion of their prophetic prayer assignment] is going to be significant to us during our lifetime and then to the next generation and to the generations to come. After the soul tormenting and being terrorised by the demonic territorial spirits and powers, now, after the Lord has remembered all of us as the children of this land, South Africa, He has made a covenant with us.”
