US pastor releases urgent ‘awakening’ message during week of meetings in SA

Dr Kynan Bridges speaking at Choose Life Church, Pretoria last weekend

Special report by SA Christian marketplace leader Dr Pearl Kupe who obeyed a prompting by the Holy Spirit to invite US pastor Dr Kynan Bridges to SA immediately after she was moved deeply by a prophetic word he released about SA becoming a “hub of worship” and an “oasis of revival”

On July 14 US pastor Dr Kynan Bridges accepted an invitation from Dr Pearl Kupe to come to South Africa to declare, in person, a prophetic word about a spiritual awakening in South Africa that he had just released from America. [See Kupe’s remarkable response at the end of this article to a question from Gateway News about what led her to extend the invitation to Bridges so soon after hearing his prophecy on SA]

In his pledge to come to SA, Bridges stated that “there was an urgency” around this matter. Watch a video of him inviting South Africa to the meetings:  https://youtu.be/rCUPPplnzKY

On Friday August 5 Bridges landed at OR Tambo International Airport to start a week of revival meetings — in Gauteng from August 5 to 8, and in Cape Town from August 8 to10. There were five meetings in Midrand, Johannesburg and Pretoria and three meetings in Cape Town.

Meetings in Johannesburg were hosted at Acts Christian Church with Pastor Peter de Fin, at Capital on Park Hotel in Sandton with Pearl Kupe and Janet Brann-Hollis, and at Choose Life Church with Pastor John Roebert. During the meetings Bridges delivered his Word as well as some insightful teaching from Scripture.

Kupe reached out to business and prayer leader Graham Power who formed a committee to help arrange the Cape Town meetings. Committee members were Power, Kupe, Pastor Steve Flandorp, Pastor Mbulelo Bikwani, Pastor Barry Isaacs, Pastor Sheldon Kidwell, Pastor Sipho Zondi and Greg Modungwa. The Cape Town meetings were at Bay City Church hosted by Pastor Kidwell, at Orion Church International in Mitchells Plain, hosted by Evangelist Nicky Coetzee and at Langa Baptist Church in Langa, hosted by Pastor Sipho Zondi. Various national leaders and members of royal houses attended the meetings — including Princesses Motswana and Tirelo Molotlegi of the Royal Bafokeng and Khoisan Princess Chantal Revell representing the First Nation.

The meetings were power packed and anointed. Almost all the venues were filled to capacity — especially in Gauteng. There were also many people who watched the services online via livestream. Bridges also released powerful prophetic words for SA in interviews on Radio Impact, Radio Pulpit (Pretoria), Radio Tygerberg in Cape Town and Radio Cape Pulpit.

Summary of Friday August 5 prophetic word

Below is a summary of a prophetic word Bridged released for SA in Johannesburg on Friday August 5:

“For the Lord is saying to this nation: ‘You are highly prized. You are highly prized. You have a destiny. You have a purpose, but many have been discouraged, many have been feeling the pains of their destitution. And, in your destitution, you begged for things that I want to freely give you. In your destitution, you have eaten things that is not manna from Heaven. And, this polluted bread, has brought pain and darkness into your lives.’

“For the Lord is saying that…that… ‘I want to redeem your inheritance,’

“I am reminded of when I landed here, in South Africa, it was a long journey, my God! I was like… ‘Lord, when are we going to land this plane, because…?’ And we were on a double decker plane. And I noticed, this may seem silly, but I just pray that this … But I noticed that… that when you fly a big plane like that, you cannot land nose down – you… you… you will destroy the plane. So, this is how they land; they land with last wheels touching the ground first. Did you know that? That is how they land like this… [demonstrating to the people]. The last wheels touching down first. The last wheels first.

Touch down

“So, as I was landing I heard the Lord say: ‘The last is going to be first. You felt like the last, but now it’s you time!’ You felt like a third world, but God said: ‘I am bringing you to front seat of the nation, I am bringing you to a place of influence, but the condition is repentance. You’ve got to change your mind. And, that change of mind requires a turning in a different direction.;

Kingdom Empowerment Summit on Saturday August 4

The Kingdom Empowerment Summit summit was intended for marketplace leaders and was held at Capital On Park Hotel in Sandton on Saturday August 6. The meeting room was filled to capacity and the word released through God’s vessel, Dr Kynan Bridges was both life transforming and provocative. Other speakers included Rev Kenneth Meshoe president of the ACDP, and Hon Colleen Makhubele who officially welcomed Dr Bridges to the City of Johannesburg. Dr Robin Stephenson also spoke on transformational revival. Here is a you tube link to the meeting : https://youtu.be/1leX6V3BHiY

Dr Bridges expands on his word for SA

In an interview with Pearl Kupe Bridges summarised the word that God gave him for South Africa. See the Q&A interview below.

  1. This has been your first visit to South Africa. Tell us what brought you to South Africa?

Well I released a prophetic word on July 12, 2022, and that word was spread far and wide; and got into the hands of many of the leaders and Fathers of the prayer movement here in South Africa. Brother Graham Power and many other pastors were very instrumental. Dr Pearl Kupe reached out to me after I gave that word and she invited me to release that word on these shores. The Lord spoke to me and He said: ‘I want you to go.’ I don’t do a lot of international travel right now because I’m too busy with the church, full-time ministry and ministry on social media, but I felt an urgency that now was the time to stir South Africa for what is to come. I believe it’s the set time and thankfully we had obedient vessels on the ground here in South Africa that heard the call of God to bring me here.

  1. Can you give a summary and highlights of the word God gave you for South Africa?

It’s time for South Africa and the Lord told me that South Africa would be an oasis for revival in this entire SADC region and also the continent of Africa. The Lord also said to me that He was breaking the spirit of witchcraft off the nation. This includes ancestral worship and muti and all the agendas that are being pushed through by occultists. But God is more powerful than they are and He is about to show His power in a very tangible way.

Also, I believe there is a sound of revival coming from the worship. There’s coming a worship movement that’s pure worship and I compared it to what the Lord did through Hillsong twenty years ago. So now it’s time for South Africa to take the baton and to run with that baton of worship that will just go global.

We also talked about God purifying the altars because one of the problems has been the mixture of counterfeit spirituality in the church. So God has to cleanse the altars and tear down the high places in the churches. I also believe it’s going to be a time of great unity and healing of the land. It’s going to be initiated by repentance, true repentance. When people turn their hearts back to God and repent of their evil ways God will hear them and heal their land.

  1. You are preparing to leave South Africa, what has been your experience of South Africa and her people?

Beautiful people, beautiful culture, beautiful language. I don’t think South Africa really knows how beautiful she is and my prayer is that God will open your eyes to what you have here. It’s a beautiful country and I look forward to coming back again.

Testimonies

Testimonies have been pouring in since the meetings began. Dr Robin Stephenson, a leading national intercessor and transformational revivalist who flew with his wife from KZN had this to say: “ Dear Pearl, This comes to say thank you very much for a weekend anointed by the Holy Spirit through Pastor Kynan Bridges’ ministry. His visit here is appropriate and timely for the country. We receive his authentic prophecy with agreement and appreciation. We were honoured to have been included in such a dynamic programme. Your organisational skills and team were incredible. We are praying for your meetings in Cape Town. We send blessings to Dr Kynan and you dear Pearl”.

In other testimonies it was said: “Good evening Graham. Ons adverted wyd en syd en vertrou dat die Kaap soon even man more sal optrek. Last night was beyond explanation. I could hardly sit in my chair, cried my make-up off. But it was a good cry though, totally in awe of the God we serve. He IS the promise-keeping God and we, SA and Africa were never forgotten. I sat there listening to every WORD and know that Abba Father is watchful over it to bring it into fulfilment. It is our time. God has left the best for last and we are totally in the picture and agenda of Heaven at such a  time as this.

“Many thanks to you Graham, Dr. Pearl and the team who made it possible by the grace of God, so we as a nation can show up and hear what is being released from the Throne room over us and over the whole of africa. God bless.”

From Rev Kenneth Meshoe: “Evening Moruti Pearl. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to share a few words at the Kingdom Empowerment Summit event which I thoroughly enjoyed, including the blessed ministry of Dr Kynan Bridges. Have a blessed evening.”

Parting words from Dr Bridges

Before leaving Bridges encouraged pastors, fivefold ministers and congregants in South Africa to read the book In His Steps: What Would Jesus Do by Charles Monroe Sheldon — a book that sold more than 50 million copies globally. The book that encourages believers to imitate God. As we begin to earnestly thirst after and yearn for God and imitate Him, revival will break out in a greater dimension in South Africa and beyond, said Bridges.

Asked by Gateway News what stirred her to invite Dr Bridges to SA so promptly after hearing his prophetic word, Kupe responded:

“Basically, Dr Kynan released the word on July the 12. And on July the 13th Graham Power, my friend, sent me the video and asked me what my thoughts were on it and I immediately said: ‘Listen, my spirit resonates very much with what he said. A number of things that he said which confirmed, really, what what other previous prophetic words for South Africa had said.

“But also, really, what I loved about him, there was a real authentic authenticity about it. And the fact that he even asked us to test the word, which many prophets do not, said to me, was a mark of humility, and a mark of sincerity.

“So I really received that word. It was quite deep. He addressed and talked about a lot of the issues that we have been dealing with in South Africa, you know, myself personally, have been really battling this issue around ancestral spirits, and many things that he mentioned. I’ve been involved personally, just standing for the body of Christ to try and represent the body of Christ.

“So, everything he said resonated with me and everything. And the way that he said it. The way it was released, really spoke to me of genuineness and authenticity. And so, on the morning when I woke up on the 14th, the first thought that that just entered into my heart — the Lord spoke to me and He said: ‘I want you to invite him personally to release that word on South African soil’ — what God said to me was ‘on South African soil’.

“And so I did not know how to reach him. I’d never heard of him. I did not know him at all. And so, when I asked the Lord, I said:’ How am I going to do this?’ He said: ‘Just look him up on his Facebook page,’ and I did.

“And I never ever inbox. I don’t send invitations by inbox, and I also do not like to receive invitations by inbox. But the Lord just said: ‘Send it to him.’

“I sent a very short invitation. God told me not to mention, you know, to explain who I am. He said: ‘Just give him your names. And because he is a man who is led by the Spirit of God, he will know who you are in the spiritual realm. He will know who you are.’

“So I just gave him my names my full names I said: ‘Dr Kynan Bridges, we’ve received and heard your word. We believe it’s authentic and the Lord says to come and release it in person on South African soil” top of console I told him my name is Pearl Kgomotso Kupe and the Lord said: ‘Do not to give any more information aside from that.’

“I honestly didn’t have very very high hopes. My my faith was literally the size of a mustard seed and not bigger than that. Because he has over a million followers on his Facebook page. He has 1.2 million followers. So I thought, wow, if he sees this message from me, it will be a real miracle and I will know it was God.

“And immediately I sent the message. An automated response came back to say: ‘We will attend to your message soon,’ but within two hours, he personally answered my message. And in his message, he said to me: ‘Woman of God, your name and your character have spoken for you.’ And he said to me that he does have a sense, the word resonates. that he must come to South Africa. And he said that in fact, it was a matter of urgency. What the Lord said was that it was a matter of urgency for him to come.

“And so that is why literally within three weeks from the time that he accepted the invitation — within three weeks, by God’s grace, we were able to host eight meetings. So there were five meetings in Johannesburg, three meetings in Cape Town. Eight meetings. It was really a miracle, nothing short of miraculous to get all the funds and resources that you need. So it’s a real miracle. So that, in a nutshell, is what led me to, to invite him to bring him and how he came.”
