WATCH: Churches frustrated by irrational lockdown regulations, heavy-handed enforcement — ACDP

Steve Swart, ACDP MP

ACDP MP Steve Swart says it is irrational that a church that can seat a thousand people should be restricted to 50 people in terms of current lockdown regulations.

Addressing the parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs last week he said there is growing frustration in the religious community at heavy-handed policing of lockdown regulations at churches, with an instance reported in which up to 20 police vehicles arrived at a church. He noted that there was no police enforcement last Wednesday when political parties held massive Youth Day events.

  1. Indeed a very sad regulation… 50 people in churches that can take thousand or more souls to pray for South Africa and its problems, which are far bigger than Covid….
Please get real, people in high places.. May be… God has placed you there ??? but He can also take your position away ….sooner than you might think….We need Church in this county, with prayer and worship and being together in unity in Christ Jesus , Amen.
