While “disappointed,” the owners of Ashers Baking Company in Northern Ireland who were found guilty of discrimination for refusing to bake a cake with a pro-gay marriage slogan, say they are not without hope, reports Charisma News.
“We are upset things haven’t gone our way,” Karen McArthur says. ” … But it doesn’t change how we feel about God.”
The McArthurs were not intimidated, though, by the experience and stand by their biblical foundations.
Meanwhile, UK national newspapers and even a pro-LGBT broadcaster have warned that the ruling threatens free speech and freedom of conscience.
Watch the video to see what the McArthurs say about the ruling:
I am saddened by this outcome as it will have far reaching effect in the future. As a pastor of a church in South Africa, I am not obliged to solemnize any marriage that I would deem to be unbiblical and I feel that this bakery should also be allowed freedom of choice. We are called to love all people and not to judge others and to treat all with dignity and respect, but where it goes against our belief system, we should be allowed that choice.
Leon, imagine your entire church being on fire for God and not just the usual overextended faithful ones. Well, that is where this is leading too. Pastors in USA (who have been down this road longer then the rest of us) reports on how this persecution has purified their congregations. Lukewarm ‘pew warmers’ are forced to take sides while true believers are standing up for Biblical living. Take heart my friend, this is suppose to happen. The Christ promised to be with us and build His church in spite of this mess. Blessings
