Vivienne Myburgh national director of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, South Africa, which is one of the organisers of the event, said: “After the events on the 12th of November [when a prayer rally for Israel in Sea Point was cancelled after militant Palestinian supporters invaded the venue] we felt we needed to still have a prayer and praise proclamation event.

“We’re looking forward to standing together across the Cape area with churches and communities and people to pray for Israel, South Africa and the release of the hostages. It will be a special time of unity with Christians and Jewish people standing together.

“We had an amazing event in Johannesburg [on November 19] that was very anointed and very blessed. And we really trust in that we can have the same kind of event in Cape Town. We have to keep on praying for Israel and for South Africa, at this time of increasing intensity in the spiritual battle over these nations.

“We are encouraging the Church not to be silent at this time but to stand in unity with Israel as never before and to rise up and comfort the Jewish people.”
