Abiding is key to PE worship event

After the SUN STAND STILL Worship & Prayer Event hosted at Harvest on 14 April 2012, I began asking God, “What’s Next?”

The word I got was  ABIDE…

I initially felt the word was a personal one. But as I dug deeper into scripture and shared it with my Small Group leaders and others, we have seen God confirm that word over and over again.

Harvest Christian Church will be hosting ABIDE: SUN STAND STILL Worship Event – Tapping into the Source of ALL!

Our heart is for a creative, city-wide, multi-media worship event that again stirs ‘Prayer & Audacious Faith as we Abide in Him’.

Without abiding audacious faith is arrogance
‘Without Abiding – audacious faith is arrogance, presumption and pride in our own strength and ability, but if we abide in Him; audacious faith is courage and boldness as we trust that His Word and His promises are true first and foremost in scripture and then prophetically’.

As we ABIDE in Jesus Christ, as we tap into the SOURCE of all things we will see the SUN STAND STILL in our lives.

‘He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together’.
Colossians 1:15-17

For us to be a resource to others, to bear fruit and impart the abundant life of Christ to others we have to be tapped into the SOURCE!

SUN STAND STILL is the seemingly impossible things God wants to do in our lives as we live in Him and He lives through us.

Jesus is the True Vine, the source of all life and as we live in Him, His life flows through us. Abiding is an active engagement in Him and a willingness to allow Him and His will to work through us.

‘ABIDE in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.  I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. … You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you [dare] to ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.’
John 15:4-5 & 16

There are many verses that encourage us to Abide in Him, His Word and His Love: John 6:56, John 8:31, John 15, 1 John 2, 1 John 3:6-17, 1 John 3:24,
1 John 4:12-16, 2 John 1:2, Psalm 91:1, 1 Peter 1:23 (English Standard Version)

As you abide in His presence, He will abide in you!
