Apostle Linda Gobodo reports on the launch of the historic “Africa Back to God” revival message in Durban, the latest centre reached in a campaign to revive a message given by God to Pastor Nicholas Bhengu in 1950 and received again by Apostle Patrick Madikiza in December 2025.
Every city meeting is different and the meeting in Durban was no exception. I have noticed that the Lord is sending the message to the Gateway Cities first. Since we started in March 2026, the message has reached six of the 12 Gateway Cities: Cape Town, Gqeberha, East London, Mthatha, Tshwane and Durban. The gatekeepers in the remaining cities are waiting on the Lord for dates in 2027.
The Lord changes the programme
In Durban, the Lord spoke to intercessors from eLujizweni as they were praying and driving to Durban, telling them He was going to change the programme.
When I received the message on Saturday morning, I waited on the Lord to know what He would have us do. I had warned the organising team that this meeting is the Lord’s, and that we must therefore be open to His leading and direction.That morning, the Lord gave me His programme for the day.
Honouring the pioneers and our hosts
We had received it in our hearts to honour the descendants of the four pioneers who were based in KZN in the 1950s: Rev Nicholas Bhengu, Rev Richard Ngidi, Rev William Duma and Rev Job Chiliza.
We learnt that although these four men were in different churches, they worked very closely together. By the grace of God, we were able to locate the two daughters of Rev Bhengu and the grandchildren of Rev Duma and Rev Chiliza.
We were also led to honour the widow of Dr Basil Tryon, fondly known as Ma Anne Tryon, as well as Fiona Des Fontaine and our host, Apostle Anil Manilal. Apostle Manilal is the visionary behind Revival Fire From Cape to Cairo. He hosted a meeting at Athlone Stadium on October 10 together with churches in Cape Town.
Unity of the Body of Christ
The vision of Africa Back to God in the Bible Way, From Cape to Cairo, is to unite the body of Christ. True to that vision, the following ministries collaborated with us in Durban:

- Basil Tryon
Ministries - New Cities Church
- Christian Women in Business Network
- Christ Kingdom Ministries
Some of these ministries had events of their own that day, which they postponed. In the spirit of unity, they responded to the Back to God call.
The royal houses
We were graced by the presence of eight representatives of the royal houses of KwaZulu-Natal:
- HRH Prince Mbuso Zulu
- HRH Prince Mandlakapheli ka Solomon Zulu
- HRH Prince Buhlebuyeza Zulu
- HRH Prince Phumuzuzulu ka Zwelithini Zulu
- HRH Prince Thokozani Zulu
- HRH Princess Nonhlanhla Zulu
- Priest Rev Thulani Sithole
- Ms Nosihle Nzama
We handed them batons as a symbol of their commitment to carry the message of Africa Back to God in the Bible Way, From Cape to Cairo, to their subjects and across KZN. I told them that as royal leaders, if they call their subjects to return to the Lord, their subjects will obey.
Prince Phumuzuzulu’s response
We gave Prince Phumuzuzulu, the son of the late King Zwelithini, an opportunity to respond. He began by saying that he is born again, Spirit-filled and led by the Spirit of God in all his dealings, and that he is an intercessor. He shared several testimonies of his encounters with the Lord, and of spiritual actions he has carried out at the leading of the Holy Spirit.
He declared that the royals must be involved in prayer: that there must be less talk and more prayer in their meetings, and even during the Reed Dance, where, as the people pray, who knows whether the Holy Spirit might come down upon the young maidens. He said they must demolish the demonic altars in the land, the altars that drink the blood of our children who die on our roads and in our streets, and drive the leviathan out of the waters.
He quoted Scripture as he spoke, including Daniel 2:21. He said the Lord had shown him a vision of the throne and of the kings who have passed on, and that the thrones they occupy belong to the Lord, which is why they don’t take them with them when they pass. God sets up kings and removes them as He pleases.
Why the Lord changed the programme
As the Prince spoke, I was amazed, because many of his words were the very things the Lord had told me to teach on. At that moment, I understood why the Lord had said He was changing the programme. When I spoke after him, all I did was confirm what he had said, in more detail. I shared about the gateway cities and the importance of intercessors rising and taking responsibility to dismantle the demonic strongholds in the gateway cities in line with the prophecy of Veronica West in 2018. We read the prophecy.
The altar at Van Reenen
The highlight was the altar on the border of the Free State and KZN at Van Reenen Pass. The Prince shared that the Lord took him there because of the many lives claimed by that pass. Our colonisers called the place Moorddraai (Murder Bend) because of the innocent blood shed in that area in the 1800s. As intercessors, we were aware of this history. On Friday, I asked our team to stop at Van Reenen to pray and deal with that altar.
We had an awesome time in the presence of the Lord in Durban.
Next meeting
The message goes to Bloemfontein on November 20 to 21. Although Bloemfontein is not a Gateway City, it is a city with a great deal of history and is the seat of the Supreme Court of Appeal. We believe the Lord is leading us there for a divine purpose, and we are expectant.
