May you rejoice in Him this Easter!

Dear Friend

On behalf of Gateway News I wish you a blessed and safe Easter weekend, wherever you are. May the love and the transforming power of the risen King Jesus impact you afresh and draw you closer to Him. In view of Good Friday tomorrow I have sent our weekly newsletter out a day earlier than usual.

One of our regular writers, Errol Naidoo, wrote a challenging message this week entitled “The Cross, The Resurrection and The Church”. He reminded us that we, as the church, have a mission and the authority to change the world. We will be posting a few more Easter reflections in the Inspirational category of Gateway News later today.

Still on the theme of Easter, a PE woman who survived years of abuse by satanic parents called on Christians to pray for the safety of children over this period which is a favourite time for satanic rites.

In an uplifting good news story we reported how two gangsters turned to Jesus during a street encounter with police and church members who were on an anti-crime prayer walk in one of PE’s gang violence hotspots.

We also reported on a Middle East briefing by a missionary who has worked undercover in the area for 20 years. He says the Holy Spirit is moving in unprecedented ways, bringing Muslims to faith in Jesus, often using signs and wonders. But he says there is a corresponding increase in persecution which requires a response from the church.

As Mighty Men momentum mounts we carried an interview with Angus Buchan about his expectations for the Karoo Mighty Men next weekend. Watch out for more on the KMMC!

Blessings,

Andre
