Gentleness of Jesus — Angus Buchan

Hope

There is no one who has ever lived on this Earth, who is as gentle as our beloved Lord Jesus Christ.  Remember, that gentleness, like self-control and meekness, is actually “controlled strength”.

In the book of Isaiah chapter 42, verse three, the Bible tells us that our Lord is so gentle that a bruised reed he will not break, and a smoking flax He will not quench, and He will bring forth justice for truth.

You and I, as representatives of our Lord, Jesus Christ, need to demonstrate the same fruit of the Spirit that the Lord exhibited while walking here on Earth.

Jesus was never a “yes” man. He confronted dishonesty, lies, immorality head on, without hesitation.  And yet his character, was so gentle that the little children flocked to see Him, and to be with Him. So much so that the disciples tried in vain to keep the children back, because the master was so tired, but what did he say? In the book of Matthew, chapter 19, verse 14, Jesus said: “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven.”

Therefore, we should imitate our Lord and Saviour and be gentle, but at the same time be forthright, and very courageous.

Jesus bless you
